Yes, we know sometimes you have questions about our Drums, the Service we provide and how to use the SpeedyDrums website to obtain maximum benefit for your business.

Below we will explain what we are frequently asked by our customers, so you can utilise the features of this site to your maximum business advantage.

  • What is the difference between what the SpeedyDrums team call a STANDARD Drum V. a CUSTOM Drum?

    At SpeedyDrums, we make the distinction between a STANDARD Drum and a CUSTOM Drum, in the following way.

    • STANDARD Drums can ‘only’ be manufactured to specific and pre-set Diameters of Pipe and Shaft.
    • STANDARD Drums can 'only' be manufactured to specific and pre-set Lengths of Pipe and Shaft.
    • Maximum order Qty of 3

    Our Commit to you is that we will manufacture a STANDARD Drum, within 4 Days for an Unlagged Drum and 5 days for a Lagged Drum. From the date when the order is confirmed.

    • CUSTOM DRUMS can be manufactured to any Diameters of Pipe and Shaft that is within our manufacturing capability
    • CUSTOM DRUMS can be manufactured to any Length of Pipe and Shaft that is within our manufacturing capability

    The lead time for a CUSTOM Drum is to be agreed with you, our Customer and our Dedicated Account Managers team.

    Obviously a CUSTOM Drum can be any size and specification. It can require more time to manufacture.

  • What are the specific Diameter and Length differences between a STANDARD Drum V. a CUSTOM Drum? (Diameters and Lengths)?

  • What is the technical specification of a STANDARD Drum?

    So we can manufacture and ship, a STANDARD DRUM Size - all within 4 or 5 days, from the date of order being confirmed.

    SpeedyDrums will always manufacture a STANDARD Drum, with a KLAB Keyless Locking Device.

    This means the Shaft is removable, We will manufacture Drive Drums & Tail/Idle Drums in the same way.

    End/Side Plates will be cut to fit the KLAB Keyless Locking Device.

  • Will my Standard Drum always have a Crown to assist with Belt alignment?

    Yes, SpeedyDrums will always machine on a Crown into the Pipe of every STANDARD Drum it produces.

    SpeedyDrums Standard Drums crown is 3mm Radius crown, unless otherwise specified by our customer.

  • SpeedyDrums states it’s website, will produce an Instant Drum Technical Drawing if I input all the Drum critical dimensions, into the Online Drum Configurator. Is this correct?

    Our website will instantly produce for you, a Technical Drawing to download, for both a STANDARD and/or CUSTOM Size Drum as long as you input all the critical dimensions, for your Drum in the Online Drum Configurator.

    NOTE: The Technical Drawings which our Online Drum Configurator will produce a Technical Drawing DRUM Design which ONLY USES a KLAB (Keyless Locking Device design), for both STANDARD and CUSTOM Size Drums.

    The Online Drum Configurator is free to use for everyone.

    SpeedyDrums can also manufacture Drums which are Welded Shaft, Taperlocked and Bushed to fix the shaft to the End Plates.

    We can also manufacture Drums which are known as Spiral Drums and Spoke Drums.

    But our Online Drum Configurator, cannot produce this as Technical Drawing, yet. However, do watch this space.

  • Does the SpeedyDrums website have Online Pricing of Drums available?

    Yes, Online Pricing of Drums, is instantly available on the SpeedyDrums website, however The Online Pricing is only available for STANDARD SIZE DRUMS.

  • How do I access the Online Pricing available for STANDARD DRUMS?

    Everyone can access the Online Pricing available for STANDARD DRUMS.
    At the Top of the home page of SpeedyDrums, you can see a facility where you can sign-up, in order to access the ONLINE PRICING for Standard Drums.

    We ask you to fill in the form and press the Sign Up button.

    SpeedyDrums will review your Company Information and approve your account.
    You will then be able to LOG-In to the ONLINE PRICING Section and have immediate access to pricing for STANDARD DRUMS only.

    Save your PASSWORD on your P.C, Laptop or Phone to have 24/7 immediate access to Online Pricing for Standard Size Drums.

  • Why is pricing not available for CUSTOM Drums?

    The reason we do not have pricing available for CUSTOM SIZE DRUMS is because there is just too much variation in the sizes possible to manufacture from (Diameters and Lengths).

    You can however still use the Online Drum Configurator to create a CUSTOM DRUM Technical Drawing – to any size of Pipe and Shaft Diameter – that is within our manufacturing capability.

  • Do SpeedyDrums rubber lag their own Drums?

    Yes. SpeedyDrums has it's own Autoclave Over for Hot Vulcanised Lagging Drums. We also have a Preprogrammed Lathe to Diamond Groove or Chevron Groove the Drums.

  • What type of Paint do SpeedyDrums?

    SpeedyDrums use a Black Alkyd Paint on all it’s Drums, on both STANDARD and CUSTOM Drums Our Black Alkyd paint specification is a Primer Undercoat and Matt Top-Coat.

  • How will my Drums be packaged?

    Depending on their size, our Drums are either Packaged on a Wooden Pallet, wedged into position so they will not roll-off and are strapped down, for safe transport.

    Or

    If there are larger quantities, we ship the Drums in a Box-Section, Steel Cage. Quantities of up to 28 can despatch inside 1 x Steel Cage.
